Withrow describes growing up in Estelline, South Dakota, and attending Catholic boarding school in Elkton, South Dakota. She discusses life in Missouri during World War II; her marriage to Gardner Withrow; his political activity leading to his election to the U.S. Congress; and their life and political associations in Washington, D.C. She also mentions her role as a sentaor's wife and her support of racial segregation.
